Combine Nepal with Bhutan for a very special Experience
Why mix Nepal & Bhutan together?
Some might think Nepal and Bhutan would be too similar to be worth mixing together in one trip. Absolutely not. Despite their close proximity they are both quite a different destination experience. However, they combine together like a great marriage.
And the flight between the two adds an awesome touch to the mix too.
Nepal is best done first and offers:
- The craziness and authenticity of Kathmandu city .
- Heritage Listed ancient Bhaktapur city.
- A wealth of wildlife parks. Chitwan NP is close to Kathmandu and offers a range of accom standards.
- Hiking & trekking options abound.
- We just adore Begnas Lake area east of Pokhara. Culture, hiking, wildlife and wellness.
- Bhutan & Beyond offers a range of private tours and small group tours in Nepal.
- The short flight between Kathmandu & Paro (Bhutan) flies opposite Mt Everest & the eastern Himalaya. There’s no better view on a clear day.
Bhutan is best visited last and offers:
- The friendliest, safest & best Buddhist cultural experience anywhere.
- The flight descent into Paro airport is one of life’s great experiences. Don’t believe anyone telling you otherwise!
- Private touring, or small group cultural touring, is the most popular way to structure your visit.
- High altitude trekking and lower valley hiking, to suit most fitness levels, are on offer.
- And there’s more! Motorcycling tours & Yoga tours.
- And the newly renovated Trans Bhutan Trail (TBT) is an exciting new hiking opportunity.
- The Bhutanese speak remarkably good english and you will fall in love with them.
- There’s no begging, no tipping (except to your guide & driver at the end of your stay) in Bhutan.
- And crimes against visitors are virtually unheard of. There’s no safer place to be.
- Great for families too. The Bhutanese adore children.
- There’s top luxury on offer. Think award-winning Aman Resorts, COMO Resorts, Gangtey Lodge and many more.

James from Bhutan & Beyond accepted my sketchy brief for 'around 10 days in Bhutan' and came up with an itinerary and accommodation that was spot-on. Leading-up to our trip, James... read more provided constant up-dates as flight schedules changed. B&B's Bhutanese partners supplied a brilliant guide and driver. B&B's 'country notes' were invaluable and accurate. Bhutan in late August was lush and green, a little rain, but nothing untoward. Some days we hardly saw another westerner, and on occasion had 5-star accommodation to ourselves (Gantley Lodge is a must). Despite the 'vagaries' inherent with the region, EVERYTHING went like clockwork. I have never travelled with the support of an agent so thorough, communicative and professional. Six stars!
