Bhutan Tourism Update: Is a travel bubble imminent?

Despite mixed messages still a regular occurrence there does seem to be some hope for a ‘travel bubble’ between Australia and selected international destinations after we master the vaccination program.

Singapore would appear to be a favourite on that list with Changi Airport, and national carrier Singapore Airlines, well ahead on their preparations for greeting international visitors, be they arriving to stay or just in transit.

And Singapore is just a 5 hour flight away from Bhutan! Imagine the possibilities and our wide range of private tours and small group tours are ready to go!

Of course ex-Australia travellers will not only need to prove vaccination, but also be prepared to have a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departure.

There's an App for That!

Those clever people at IATA have developed an app called ‘Travel Pass’. Singapore Airlines are currently trialling this on one of their daily Singapore-London flights and it seems to be doing all the right things. It sets travellers up with a digital travel ID including photo, passport & vaccination details. It then helps you book your pre-flight COVID test and records the results. If you are all clear it then sends all your data, with an ‘all ok to travel’ classification, on to your airline for pre-flight clearance.

It's time to talk Bhutan with us now!

James & Nicola are Founders of Bhutan & Beyond. We are ready to chat with prospective travellers and prepare them for when the time is again right to lock in travel plans.

It may not be that far away.

And beautiful, and so clever Bhutan, still has only one COVID related death and continues to handle the pandemic admirably. Bhutan is indeed a global inspiration in so many ways.
