Key Information Regarding The Go Insurance Leisure Travel Insurance Policy
- COVID-19 and ‘Known’ Events
COVID-19 and its variants are considered ‘known’ events as of the date of this addendum. Under the Go Insurance policy:- Claims related to cancellation or amendment costs may be considered if you or your travelling companion are diagnosed with COVID-19 prior to departure and are unable to travel.
- Claims for overseas medical expenses may be considered if you contract COVID-19 while on your trip.
- Exclusions Related to COVID-19
The Go Insurance policy excludes claims relating to:- Travelling against government or health authority advice.
- Failure to take reasonable precautions or follow official health guidelines.
- Losses due to border closures or travel restrictions reinstated after the policy purchase date.
- Tour Cancellations & Deferrals
If the tour is cancelled due to an unforeseen event making it unsafe or impractical to proceed, the following options may be offered by the tour provider:- Deferred Tours: Travellers may be offered a place on a deferred tour for the following year.
- Refunds: A refund of tour costs, less applicable cancellation fees, may be offered. Claims for cancellation fees may be assessed under the Go Insurance policy, provided the reason for cancellation aligns with the policy terms and conditions.
- ‘DO NOT TRAVEL’ Advisories
If Smartraveller (Department of Australian Foreign Affairs and Trade) issues a ‘DO NOT TRAVEL’ advisory for Sri Lanka, or any transit destination, due to an unforeseen event occurring after policy purchase, a claim may be assessed under the Go Insurance policy. - Precautions for Travellers
Travellers are encouraged to take reasonable precautions against known risks, such as adhering to local health regulations, maintaining good hygiene, and following travel advisories.
